چکیده

Power-to-methane (PtM) systems may allow fluctuations in the renewable energy supply to be smoothed out by storing surplus form of methane. These work combining hydrogen produced electrolysis with carbon dioxide from different sources produce methane via Sabatier reaction. The present studies PtM based on CO2 supplied chemical looping combustion (CLC) biomass (PtM-bioCLC). Life- cycle- assessment (LCA) was performed PtM-bioCLC evaluate their environmental impact respect a specific reference case. proposed configurations have potential reduce value global warming (GWP) climate change indicator lowest values reported literature date. Moreover, possibility effectively removing atmosphere through concept negative emissions also assessed. In addition GWP, as many 16 LCA indicators were evaluated and for studied found similar those case considered or even significantly lower such categories resource use-depletion, ozone depletion, human health, acidification eutrophication. results obtained highlight these newly schemes.

Exergy Analysis of a Syngas-Fueled Combined Cycle with Chemical-Looping Combustion and CO2 Sequestration

Fossil fuels are still widely used for power generation. Nevertheless, it is possible to attain a shortand medium-term substantial reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere through a sequestration of the CO2 produced in fuels’ oxidation. The chemical-looping combustion (CLC) technique is based on a chemical intermediate agent, which gets oxidized in an air reactor and is then cond...

Copper-manganese mixed oxides: CO2-selectivity, stable, and cyclic performance for chemical looping combustion of methane.

Chemical looping combustion (CLC) is a key technology for oxy-fuel combustion with inherent separation of CO2 from a flue gas, in which oxygen is derived from a solid oxygen carrier. Multi-cycle CLC performance and the product selectivity towards CO2 formation were achieved using mixed oxide of Cu and Mn (CuMn2O4) (Fd3[combining macron]m, a = b = c = 0.83 nm) as an oxygen carrier. CuMn2O4 was p...

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of an Integrated Biomass Gasification Combined Cycle (IBGCC) with CO2 removal

Basing on results of previous studies, the efficiency of a Brayton/Hirn combined cycle, fuelled with a clean syngas produced by means of biomass gasification and equipped with CO2 removal by chemical absorption, resulted 33.94%, considering also the separated CO2 compression process. The specific CO2 emission of the power plant was 178 kg/MWh. In comparison with values previously found for an I...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
